San Miguel Electric Cooperative Helps Those in Need

CHRISTINE, Texas [Sept. 29, 2021] – Children in need and the disabled are just a few of the San Miguel Electric Cooperative, Inc.’s (SMEC) most recent 2021 charitable recipients.

SMEC donated $1,000 to the Atascosa County Child Welfare Board to assist children who have been removed from their homes by Child Protective Services. The group helps with purchasing school supplies, shoes and clothing to assist temporary caretakers, who often are on a fixed income.

SMEC employees also volunteered to make their communities a better place. Recently, STEC employees joined together to build a ramp for a young disabled boy in Pearsall to help him have easier access to his home. The work was done in conjunction with the Texas Ramp Project.
