Instrumentation & Electrical Technician
Under direction, assists IE Technician Class A in troubleshooting, repair, and maintain electrical/instrumentation systems in power centers, motor control centers, 7200V switch gears, 138KV and 345KV transmission switchyard using schematics, interconnects and test equipment. Performs repairs on high voltage equipment, repairs meters, observes ammeters, voltmeters and related test equipment. Uses recording and indicating instruments to assess possible equipment downtime that may affect normal generating and transmission equipment operation. Troubleshoots and maintains Allen Bradley PLC hardware, software systems, Data Acquisition System (DAS), Digital Electro-Hydraulic (DEH), Digital Control System (DCS), environmental analyzers and equipment, transmitters, electronic equipment, lab analyzers, sensor loops, solenoids, transducers and controllers. Maintains electromechanical and digital/microprocessor protective relays. Examples of systems and equipment includes Emerson Ovation, Foxboro, DCS, GE, Westinghouse, and SEL.
